What
is Compass?
Compass is a three-phase program of the Ministry Center for Christian Youth of
Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary that seeks in partnership with local church pastors/mentors,
to identify youth for ministry, equip them for service, and mentor them to maturity.
The three phases are nomination, Real Ministry Immersion, and mentoring.
Who can attend Compass?
Compass is open to juniors in
high school. The Real Ministry Immersion takes place in the summer before they
begin their senior year.
How much does Compass cost?
Each student contributes a certain amount toward the cost of the program
($700). This contribution
may be provided by the participating student, by the church, through fundraising
or through some combination of the above. The Lilly Endowment partially funds
the
remaining portion of the program expenses.
Each student must provide his/her own transportation to and from Gordon-Conwell
at the beginning and end of RMI. We encourage the local church body to support the
youth they are sending in covering this cost.
How do I apply (or nominate someone else) to be a part of the next group of Compass
students?
