Timothy S. Laniak, Th.D.
Associate Professor of Old Testament, Coordinator of the Urban Ministry Program - Charlotte, 1997.
B.A. (Wheaton College); M.Div. (Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary); graduate studies (Institute of Holy Land Studies, Brandeis University); Th.D. (Harvard Divinity School).

Dr. Laniak joined the Charlotte faculty after working as a missionary in Europe and Asia, and with international students and immigrants in the U.S. His research and ministry passions combine social anthropology and the study of Scripture. He has studied in the Middle East for extended periods and periodically leads study tours to the region. Dr. Laniak currently serves as lead mentor for the Christian Leadership track in the Doctor of Ministry program. He is a member of the Society of Biblical Literature, American Schools of Oriental Research, and the Institute of Biblical Research.
