The Master of Arts in Educational Ministries

The Master of Arts in Educational Ministries is a two-year degree program for persons who desire to prepare themselves for leadership positions in educational ministries in church and parachurch situations. Persons seeking to serve in pastoral ministries in the churches should complete the Master of Divinity program. The intention of the program is to help students grow in their ability to formulate a biblical philosophy of education, to understand the basic principles of the teaching-learning process and to develop specific competencies which are necessary for teaching, organizing and administering programs and for effective leadership in a variety of settings. The program is designed to enable students not merely to assimilate information but to communicate it effectively, persuasively and sensitively as well. The program also addresses students' needs to be theologically informed; to develop personally, professionally and spiritually; and to integrate theory and practice.

Degree Requirements

Students participating in this degree program must complete 20 courses with a grade point average of 2.0 or more and be present for graduation exercises. In addition, students must complete four semesters of Mentored Ministry.
